Coach Training
- Working with those with dependencies?
- Recently started?
- Looking for ideas?
Moving Forward Freely is a course that seeks to get alongside and help those with dependencies and addictions. This can be challenging for a number of reasons, and it is important to ensure our volunteers are properly trained so they can act as coaches to help those on our courses. Moving Forward Freely is not the only course that operates in this space! So we want to make our training available for any others who might find it helpful.
Is mff Coach Training For Me?
The Moving Forward Freely course draws extensively from the Fresh Start Course, and before that, the Release Groups that Christians Against Poverty ran. Each year, we have seen about 6 new guests attending our courses, and we have received many encouragements along the way.
Our original course team were trained by Christians Against Poverty, and we have also learnt much from our guests over the years that we have been running.
We are also privileged to have had Emma Heath monitoring our training. Emma is the Founder, Director, and driving force behind STAR Recovery.
The Content
Our training currently consists of three main sections, Theory, Keeping everyone Safe, and the Practice of Coaching. If you would like to know more, please contact us.
How Much?
We reckon that volunteers working in this area already give enough of their time and resources, so we aim to make our materials and training sessions free.
